On Saturday I attended a ‘Gathering of The Goddesses’ event. There was poetry, chocolates and sweet wine. Just a few women in a room emanating beauty, feeling good and experiencing the open sharing of each other. We enjoyed sensual poetry written and recited by the hostess who autographed copies of her first book of poems for us. Earlier that day, Spirit guided me to present some insight into the sacred ritual of adorning our ankles with anklets. (Feet are the support of the entire body and therefore accorded great significance. Indeed the foot is the human pedestal, in direct contact with Mother Earth, absorbing vigor from her powerful emanations.) So, I created little gift bags of charged candles and silver jingly anklets with bells for each of the ladies attending. For some of the women, the anklet was a first. For others, I feel it may bring deeper meaning to them. For me, my offerings were a token of gratitude for all of my blessings. I hadn’t planned on belly dancing, although, that was another one of my offerings which manifested that evening. Being in the company of women, one of my true elements– evoked Oshun and Het-Heru (spirit of dance) to make it’s presence known. As I danced, I could feel their energies moving me. Afterwards, I was asked to share a few belly dance moves…we all had so much fun! Women dancing together is truly an act of honoring the divine feminine spirit within. The atmosphere was sprinkled with witch magik…(wink) positive, social, pleasant, loving, quiet, harmonious, joyful, sweet, engaging, flexible, grace and merriment. Soothing colors filled air..blues, yellows, greens and red. A memorable evening of sandalwood, cinnamon and patchouli vibes. I’ll add this memory to my sacred basket of treasures.
